Parking and Charging Management at Ypsilon Yacht Club: Premium Customer Experience with Parkl

Although the Ypsilon Yacht Club in Alsóörs has only completed its first season this year on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, the marina is already recognised for its exceptional services and the outstanding environment provided to its tenants. They aimed to offer a high standard not only in technical content and quality but also in customer experience, which is why they considered it important to find a suitable mobility support solution for electric vehicle (EV) owners.

When Ypsilon Yacht Club first began searching for a smart parking and charging management solution, they had very specific requirements. They were looking for a system that could efficiently manage both tenant and guest parking as well as electric car charging.

"Handling the different needs of various users was a critical aspect when selecting the ideal smart parking and charging management solution. During the construction phase of the marina's infrastructure, we had already found and installed a smart system that met our goals for charging electric boats. Therefore, for cars and other land-based electric vehicles, we sought a service and partner that could also manage parking, charging, and the payment of these fees in a modern and flexible way. Parkl offered a unified system where these could be easily achieved," explained Enikő Janák, Sales Director of Ypsilon Yacht Club.

Many of the club’s members drive electric cars, making EV charging a key step in developing their range of services. It is important to highlight that Ypsilon Yacht Club has sufficient electrical capacity, allowing them to easily serve the growing demand for charging both electric boats and electric cars.

The system provided for cars currently operates with four EV charging points to ensure effective charging management, but there are plans to expand this in the future. The club values the flexibility of being able to easily increase the number of charging stations as parking demands and the number of electric cars grow. The expansion is especially crucial, as the Costes Group, led by chef Jenő Rácz, will open a restaurant at the marina next year, and they expect an increasing number of external guests, some of whom may also need charging facilities.

The partnership between Ypsilon Yacht Club and Parkl began earlier this year. Negotiations started in the spring, and the system was fully operational by the end of the summer. While the EV charging component is already installed, further functions are planned to be integrated into the Parkl system in the near future.

Overall, through the collaboration with Parkl, Ypsilon Yacht Club successfully introduced a smart parking and charging management solution for tenants and visitors, enhancing the comfort of members and guests while remaining aligned with the club’s core values of environmental awareness and innovation.
