Urban development today goes far beyond constructing buildings. The goal is to create liveable, sustainable, and flexible infrastructure that also meets everyday mobility needs. WING’s latest development, the Liberty Building, has been designed from the outset with this mindset in focus: to provide seamless, convenient mobility solutions tailored to a multifunctional property.

What sets Liberty apart is its unique combination of spaces: it accommodates offices for internationally recognised companies, retail units, and hotel guests under one roof. This diverse user base has very different mobility requirements, making it essential that parking and electric vehicle charging are managed in a simple, transparent, and sustainable way for everyone involved.

In line with the building’s scale and mixed-use nature, Parkl has implemented a comprehensive mobility system capable of meeting the parking and charging needs of office staff, hotel guests and daily visitors alike. Over 500 parking spaces and 57 electric charging points have been integrated into Parkl’s digital platform, enabling fully digital and automated access management, space booking and entry control. The parking system includes both external and internal barriers: the external barrier controls general entry, while the internal barrier secures a designated parking zone on levels -2 and -3, reserved exclusively for tenants.

Barriers alone do not provide a complete access control solution — they require a smart system to operate effectively. Compared to traditional card-based entry systems, Parkl’s digital solution offers greater transparency and enhanced security. The utilisation of dedicated parking spaces, accessible based on permissions, can be monitored and reported in real time, significantly simplifying fleet management and administration for tenant companies.

Parkl’s system is technically capable of handling all types of parking scenarios — whether for corporate employees or hotel guests — supported by two features developed specifically for the needs of Liberty. The guest pass function allows administrators to easily register a guest for a specific period, such as the duration of a hotel stay. During this time, the guest can enter and exit the car park freely, and the system automatically assigns access rights to the most recently detected licence plate at the barrier. In addition, the payment validation function enables the guest’s licence plate to be added to the system in advance, ensuring smooth entry even without Parkl registration, while exit remains conditional on payment of the parking fee. These features are particularly useful for larger events, conferences, or business meetings, where efficient guest handling within a short time frame is essential.

It’s important to highlight that Liberty’s car park was already equipped with an existing hardware system, which did not need to be replaced following the implementation of Parkl. This avoided the need for costly new equipment. Parkl’s solution operates independently, in parallel with the existing infrastructure. This meant that only the Parkl software needed to be integrated with the current system, fully digitising the garage without requiring major investment or infrastructural changes. This flexible approach enabled a quick rollout at a lower cost, while maintaining high levels of user satisfaction.

'Our goal during the development of Liberty was to implement technological solutions that deliver tangible benefits for both tenants and visitors. Parkl’s digital parking and charging management system is exactly that: it enhances the user experience while supporting the property’s sustainability goals,' emphasised Bernadett Mezei MRICS, Office Portfolio Director at WING.

Parkl’s mobility solution has been an important step for Liberty towards more efficient and sustainable operations. In addition to promoting the use of electric vehicles, the service also increases the utilisation of the building’s car park, helping to reduce morning parking searches and congestion on surrounding streets. This not only provides convenience for tenants and visitors but also supports more sustainable corporate mobility within the office environment.

Our collaboration clearly shows that a modern building is not just about its walls, but also about how we can actively contribute to making urban transport more sustainable, while offering simple, practical solutions.

At Parkl, we believe that smarter mobility solutions make cities more liveable.
